I would like to nominate KISS TOMORROW GOODBYE: THE BARBARA PAYTON STORY by John O'Dowd.

This one of the best bios I have ever read and it does a grand job of covering her sci-fi and horror films (4 SIDED TRIANGLE, BRIDE OF THE GORILLA) and her film noirs. The author interviewed not only people she worked with, by several relatives (including her son), best friends, neighbors, and even ex-husbands. An absolutely fascinating read about an actress that has long been talked about.

And if it has not already been nominated then Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters by our own August Ragone....this is the kind of book I have been waiting for ever since I was a little monster kid!

Two of the best books I read this year.
