In theory, no. Before your show, you run a test loop through first.


Just as an aside - I used to know a guy who was a projectionist for a multiplex theater. He'd let his friends up there in the booth now and then, and he used to show me around, and it was very interesting. By this time they were using the "platters" for the several different theaters, and everything was on a timer.

Is this the standard way of projecting films now? All platters, even in your theater?
