Ted Ted Ted you cannot compare situations like the preschool thing with a topic like aspartame which has been scientifically investigated by WAY more than 2 people. What about Dr. Roberts' book? What about the fact that they warn not to cook with the stuff? WHY if it's so benign? You sound like a drug addict defending his addiction. And unless you've personally investigated Betty Martini you have no right to call her nuts. Maybe she went back to school and got her medical doctorate later in life. Why don't you write her and ask her instead of sitting there in your chair calling her a nut? And why would a good lookin' intelligent creative guy destroy the lining of his lungs with Marlboros? Did you know that smoking a pack a day gives you radiation exposure (from stuff they put on the tobacco leaves) equivalent to 300 chest x-rays a year? That smoke contains arsenic and carbon monoxide? Would you willing spoon either of these substances into your mouth? Yet it's okay in cigarettes? Who's the REAL nutcase here? They're NOT fixating on a single cause of all the world's ills...but they ARE trying to focus on ONE of the causes. Diet drinks and foods are promoted to kids (sugar free candies/gums) and in movie theatres and in stuff like Slimfast and sports drinks etc. There are plenty of toxic additives that cause other problems (let's mention MSG here)
Saute some cubed or stripped tofu in sesame oil with ginger and garlic til golden crispy, add your fav vegetables,stir-fry,....serve over organic brown rice with organic tamari sauce. (if you've never tried tofu and want a good first impression)
