On the second example, you elected to grab a shot that's mid push-in. As such, the composition is changing with each frame. I think I'm about one frame off yours, and decided to err on the side of too early, which would actually give Dark Sky's framing every possible chance to be the 'looser' one. You can see the result for yourself:
