The characters ring true, the effects are still amazing, the dialogue is crisp and interesting. You want to be on that boat, facing the challenge, feeling the thrill. I've seen Jaws at least 25 times, every July 4th or so. It never gets old. Never looks dated. It can never be remade, or improved. It is on television about once a month, regardless of season. It will always be available. It will outlive us all.
Double BAM!!
JAWS is my favorite film of all time. I saw it at the theater with my folks in 1975 when I was 8 years old and I haven't been the same since. This is the film that introduced me to the sense of wonder and the power of cinema. Unforgettable.
Any negative comments about JAWS fall on deaf ears with me. I can't even bother to entertain them, so I won't.
