Hardcore completist that I am, I've bought every one of the DH Press Uni Monster novels published so far --and have found them all disappointing to varying degrees. The overall scheme of the series seems to be to put the old characters in intriguingly fresh situations and settings, "pushing the envelope" rather than just re-hash old formulas and scenarios. Well, I can only speak for myself, but I'd PREFER a re-hash of old classic horror film tropes. These books just don't FEEL like the "real thing".

Got the Wolfman book yesterday, read the prologue and first chapter, and gave up.

The cover art is nice.
