I have been renting the DVD series of "The Prisoner" from Netflix and multiple viewings of the intro sequence, where the future No. 6 hands in his resignation got me to thinking. It is obvious that the character is venting about his reasons for handing in his resignation.

I mean, can you feature the PMG's character angrily saying things like "and I am never coming back", "I hate you all", "this is the biggest piece of crap to work for that I have ever seen", or some such for the amount of time in which the scene apparently takes place?

To me. it seems more plausible that he would be telling the functionary exactly what made him so angry that he could not but resign.

If anyone has another take on this, I would love to hear it.

Also, I wonder if anyone capable of lip-reading has ever viewed this scene and figured out what McGoohan is saying in those brief moments when the camera is on his face?

Cheers!
