My Recent Posts
Too many to list for me but some that spring to mind immediately (some jump the gap from fanzine to magazine, so bear with me).
VIDEO WATCHDOG (The best magazine ever, period.)
CINEFANTASTIQUE (Before TREK reliance killed the magazine.)
CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN
VIDEOOZE
EUROPEAN TRASH CINEMA
MONSTER! INTERNATIONAL
DOCTOR WHO BULLETIN (Before it became DREAMWATCH BULLETIN.)
I admired Chas. Balun's self-publishing ethic for DEEP RED, even though I'm not a gorehound like he is.
MIDNIGHT MARQUEE (from GORE CREATURES until the early '90s.)
LITTLE SHOPPE OF HORRORS (The best Hammer coverage out there.)
CHILLER THEATRE's covers, not so much their writing.
Ditto for MONSTERSCENE JOURNAL.
PSYCHOTRONIC VIDEO/CULT MOVIES, though they both wore out their welcome sorta fast.
FANGORIA from birth until about 1985.
FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND for the covers and 4E alone.
GOREZONE for the writing of Steve Bissette and Tim Lucas. Trash the rest.
SAMHAIN
ECCO: THE MAGAZINE OF BIZARRE CINEMA
SCREAM FACTORY (would mean more to me if I liked horror fiction, but I admired it's perseverance.)
SHOCK XPRESS
IS IT UNCUT? (though it can be exhausting to read.)
I'm sure I'd like MONSTERS FROM THE VAULT from what I've read about it, but haven't picked up an issue yet.
