Aside from his appearance in THE GHOST OF DRAGSTRIP HOLLOW. Jimmie Madden also cut two horror-themed novelty sides for AIP Records. "Horrors of the Black Museum" and "The Headless Ghost" are clever little rockers with a heavy R&B flavor. Jimmie's band recorded the movie tie-ins under the name "The Nightmares" and they would remind many listeners of a blend of The Monotones and The Coasters. The 45 can be found on ebay from time to time.

Jimmie Madden was primarily a jazzman, but I exchanged emails with with him a few years ago and he seemed somewhat surprised someone would ask about those AIP records (and was especially interested that someone had included one of the tracks on a Halloween compilation CD). Nice guy. And great sax player.
