After the stroke a year or so back, he never quite came back. It was pretty bad. Mariska carries on and his son will keep selling flowers on Fountain Avenue. I remember when Mickey introduced me to his son and grandson. I think the thing that made him happiest was his family and his birds. He had a flock of birds that always came by his house to sing for him. He adored them. And his baby Mariska... he could never say enough about her. You could see his heart swell in his chest when he spoke of her. His eyes would light up and that wonderful smile of his would illuminate the world. I'm so sorry he's gone. He was a darling man and so completely full of life.
