Not to speak ill of the recently departed, but...

The infamous photo op sequence from a couple of years ago, with Irwin holding his baby son while feeding an aggressive, large crocodile struck me as being stupidly wrong-headed and really turned me off on Steve Irwin. Sorry, but that's the way I feel about it.

If an adult wants to take risks based on their expertise and daring, that's their look-out. To include an infant smacks of the worst type of PR trolling. This situation had absolutely nothing to do with conservation, respect for animals etc. Just pure P.T. Barnum, show-off hokum using a crocodile and a baby. I think that particular episode and his subsequent public refusal to acknowledge his actions as inappropriate reflects poorly on Steve Irwin's maturity and judgment as an adult.

I felt that the episode with Irwin, his baby and the crocodile was an awful scenareo when it originally occurred, and despite my sincere regrets over his tragic death, my opinion hasn't changed one whit.
