I keep submitting Frederica Maas to that "85 and still Alive" web site along with Joe Pevney, Stanley Rubin and others, but they never update the freaking site!

Maas lives in a rest home down in San Diego and gave a detailed, interesting interview to Paul Zollo for "Hollywood Remembered" in 2002.

Just saw A.I. 'Buzz' Bezzerides at the screening of his documentary last week. He wrote the screenplays for "They Drive by Night",(1940) "Juke Girl", "Thieves Highway" and "On Dangerous Ground". He also originated the television series, "The Big Valley". Buzz is 98 and still pretty much all there, just difficult to talk to because of being both ancient and cantankerous.

Of course, my occasional phone companion, Marc Lawrence, left at 96 last December. He had a truly phenomonal memory.
