I just hate it. One of my favorite actors, a true legend is gone.

Glenn Ford was so magnificently and relentlessly authentic in every role he played.

He was one of the few actors who excelled in multiple genres, film noir, Westerns, straight drama and comedy. Ford was a case of a movie star who was one fine actor.

I am glad that I made it to his 90th birthday celebration several months ago.

Time to get "Gilda", "Framed" or "The Big Heat" out tonight.

R.I.P. Glenn

Postscript sour grapes: Perhaps the fricking Motion Picture Academy and AFI will now be embarrassed enough to honor Glenn Ford with either a posthumous Special Oscar or Lifetime Achievement Award. I found it incredible that neither organization saw fit to honor Ford for his body of distinguished work during his lifetime, preferring to recognize such film acting 'legends' as Barbara Streisand.
