The only movie I ever walked out on was John Wayne's CHISUM, but I had really only gone to see whatever the second-billed movie was (can't remember what now). Back in 1970, I really despised Wayne because he'd beaten out Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman (both for MIDNIGHT COWBOY) for 'Best Actor' with TRUE GRIT. It took me years to get over how pissed I was. Years later, I finally realized what a wonderful performance Wayne gave as Rooster Cogburn. But I still haven't revisited CHISUM.

Anyway, I haven't walked out on a film since. Of course, I do start to watch things on cable and then give up on them, but it's not really the same thing.

My son walked out on a movie for the first time a few months ago, and he's voracious in his movie appetite. My guess is it must've been pretty bad. It was Mann's MIAMI VICE.
