I don't think NOISES OFF >is< one of Bogdanovich's lesser films; I think he brought to bear all his knowledge about screen comedy and made which, for me, is one of the funniest movies of all time. When I first saw it, several times I laughed so hard and long I literally almost passed out. Much of it comes from the often-staged play, of course, but a great deal comes from the cast and Bogdanovich's razor-sharp timing.
