Herrmann lifted from himself constantly - ANNA AND THE KING has those oriental themes that he clearly built on for SINBAD. MARNIE has parts of VERTIGO in it, as does WHITE WITCH DOCTOR... it goes on and on.

I love Herrmann, warts and all, but he thought EVERYBODY was a moron.

I love the OUT OF AFRICA and DANCES WITH WOLVES themes, not so much the rest of the scores (and not either film much).

All due respect to your mother, Hal, you owe it to yourself to see MIDNIGHT COWBOY! And I agree, another interesting Barry score, although it just "drips" the 60's - if you don't like that era, you won't like either the film or the score.
