I guess if we're talking the 1950s here, I'd have to go with "The Twonky." Hans Conreid, an actor with tons of talent and just niceness, tries to escape the moving and talking television that, when I was little, scared the living daylights out of me even though it was supposed to be a comedy.

Every couple of years or so I'll throw the tape in because Conreid is so... I don't know. It's just funny. And I'm not scared anymore... I think.
