It seemed to me (and my memory could be faulty) that a substantial amount of Great Pumpkin was devoted to Snoopy's World War I adventures. Granted, he was extremely popular at the time (was this before or after the record about Snoopy vs. the Red Baron? And the Christmas one, too?), but I've always been disappointed that the show was less about Halloween and more about Snoopy. At least the Christmas one devoted itself to a "Charlie Brown Christmas," primarily. Snoopy was only a supporting character. In "Great Pumpkin," he takes over, and we're suddenly VERY far away from both Halloween and any pumpkins, great or non-great. Amd for quite some time, too!
