MiketheMook's post pretty much nails it for me. I loved the early Peanuts specials, with the original Christmas one and GREAT PUMPKIN being the cream of the crop, in my opinion. And the jazz music of the cartoons opend up an area of music that I had not heard before. Having been born in 1960, I was just the right age as the Peanuts specials, RUDOLPH and THE GRINCH came out. And boy, back in those pre-vcr days, you didn't dare miss the broadcast or you'd have to wait a whole year--almost an enternity--to see them again!
