Some have said that HD is probably tickled, but would never admit it, because it just makes the medium that more appealing to everyone but the studios.

I can't imagine Blu-ray is far from being cracked either, lets face it, a code that must be universal enough for mass production, will have inherent clues as to how it may be broken.

It goes back to the notion that the best thing a studio can do to avoid piracy, is offer a quality product at a fair price, and make sure that product is readily available. I don't rip DVDs other than for making mix-reels at movie parties, of stuff I already own. Why? Because pre-recorded DVDs are cheap, available, and it's time-consuming to copy them.
