I think that bidders need to reevaluate how they approach auctions and how important it is for them to acquire items on Ebay. I used to be very aggressive about bidding for an item if I wanted it and I often spent way too much for something that once I received it, I wasn't that pleased with it. Now, if I see something on Ebay that I think I might like, I decide how much I am willing to pay for it and that is my highest bid. If I win it, great. If I lose the item, I don't give it much thought and move on. I think shill bidding would be reduced if bidders simply decide on a reasonable price they are willing to pay for an item and stick to that price without getting into a bidding war over it. I have to admit that with this philosophy, I lose more items than I win, but my finances are better off for it. When I do win an item for a reasonable or below reasonable price its like getting an added bonus. I suffer much less buyer's remorse with this method.
