I have kept almost every book that I've bought and read since my post-high school days. Some exceptions are selling back a few texts to the University library and maybe a couple of books I lent out but never got back.

I do get rid (eventually) of books that I have realized that I'll never read. This is either to a used book seller (agreed, it's for a pittance) or a donation to a local library (in Connecticut, several libraries would hold a summer book sale to raise money).

I also have a bad habit of dog-earring paperbacks as I read them and find interesting passages.
