I don't know a lot about the LODGER rights. I do know (and I've posted it here before -- hope nobody minds me being a broken record) that in 1980 when Fox's literary rights to Marie Belloc what's-her-name's novel "The Lodger" expired, a memo was sent to every Fox branch worldwide telling 'em to destroy every print (and every print of MAN IN THE ATTIC too). They must have cleared up the situation instead, because of course THE LODGER has since played endlessly on AMC (it was the first movie they ever showed), etc., etc. But maybe the home video rights situation has only now been ironed out.

BTW, from my files of who-cares? trivia, in 1982, Fox's TV division considered THE LODGER as the subject for a movie-for-TV or a mini-series.
