This development has now basically rendered those chats worthless as far as what they tell us is coming out.

It's not like Warners deliberately lied to dupe fans. I'm sure there are reasons why the stuff isn't coming. Tom said the box set wasn't coming this year, implying it's been pushed back to next year. The delay of the DARK SHADOWS titles opens up at least the possibility that they'll use the additional time to allow Darren Gross to complete the restoration of NIGHT and create some extras, so in that case the delay may prove to be a good thing.

Still, this Halloween season started so promisingly with the announcement of all those Fox double features, but it's just gone downhill since. Consider:

1) Weak MGM Midnite Movie double features--which now look like they may not be coming at all since there has been no official announcement and they aren't up for pre-order anywhere.

2) No ISLAND OF LOST SOULS or THE UNINVITED from Universal, and the second rate titles we are getting are Best Buy exclusives.

3) No classic horror set from Warners.

4) No vintage sci-fi or horror announced by Sony or Paramount--at least not yet. (Thanks to Michael we at least know that good stuff is in the works at Sony, we just don't know when it will come out.)
