My reviews appear in Scarlet Street and Van Helsing's Journal. FRANKENSTEIN'S CASTLE OF FREAKS is for the latter, which focuses on non-US fantasy films. Since my main interest is Golden Age Hollywood and I tend not to be attracted to the same type of Hammer/Euro-Horror as most, my selections for that one are rather off-the-beaten-path: SALON KITTY, I, MONSTER and VENUS IN FURS to name a few. I can indulge myself closer to home with SS. Some of my reviews there have included VOODOO ISLAND/THE FOUR SKULLS OF JONATHAN DRAKE, THE LAST MAN ON EARTH/PANIC IN YEAR ZERO, THE BELA LUGOSI COLLECTION (that was a plum assignment) and THE BEST ABBOTT AND COSTELLO VOL. 4.
