MOST of the offbeat films we like in the genre would be forgotten, "if not for Boris, Bela, etc." So you have no real point. I may agree in this case with you that, without Boris in FRANK 70, nobody'd give much of a hoot, but so what? The reality, is we DO have Boris in this picture. And it's part of the equation why I think it's fun.

I think it's an enjoyable fifties B monster flick. No more, and no less (I know I've been susprised to find of late that I'm not the only one, strangely enough!).

But this is interesting, in that we currently have a Universal thread going on by Joe Lugoff , where he tries to tell what he dislikes about THE BLACK CAT ('34). I told him in that thread that a film gets a certain bad, fair, or good reputation sort of based on a majority vibe.... and then, if you fall into the majority, you don't really need to "defend" your position. It's not that the majority is "right", but with movies the majority dictates a general reputation, and that's what sticks. So here I am getting my own mediciine and am conceding that FRANKENSTEIN 1970 overall retains a "bad" rep.... I am the exception to the "norm" on this film. And this is why I am attempting to "defend" it. :)

Whatever the case, Rod, I take it that here we have yet ANOTHER film you don't need or want in this vast array of upcoming DVD oldies!
