Dark Sky Films passed along a first look at the cover art from its new DVD of Jack Hill’s 1964 cult favorite SPIDER BABY, streeting September 25. The black-comic saga of the twisted and cannibalistic Merrye siblings (Sid Haig, Beverly Washburn and Jill Banner), their chauffeur/guardian Bruno (Lon Chaney Jr.) and the ill-fated visit of some distant relatives and their conniving lawyer will be presented in anamorphic 1.66:1 widescreen with Dolby Digital 2.0 mono sound, plus the following extras:

The 25th will also see the release of the new two-disc release of EATEN ALIVE, the Tobe Hooper film whose previous Dark Sky disc was pulled at the 11th hour when better materials were unearthed. This edition will include a new, improved anamorphic 1.85:1 transfer with the filmmaker/actors commentary, Robert Englund interview and featurette on real serial killer/inspiration Joe Ball from the previous edition (a few copies of which got out into the marketplace before it was cancelled), plus new onscreen chats with Hooper and actress Marilyn Burns, alternate credits, stills, trailers and TV/radio spots.
