I must state that I really love the sculpts of the Ymir, the cyclops and the dinosaurs from one million BC and Gwangi are topnotch, but the puppets from the Animal World always left me underwhelmed, comparatively.
I think that O'Brien designed the dinosaurs for ANIMAL WORLD but that the actual sculpting and construction was handled by studio technicians. I don't at all feel that the puppets are badly done though perhaps just not up to the high standard of excellence we usually associate with the Harryhausen and O'Brien. In Ray Harryhausen - Master of the Majicks Volume 2 the sculptors are identified as Harold Wilson and Pasquale Manuelli. There's a tread somewhere under KONG where we were looking at a Triceratops puppet that had been built for CREATION and it appeared a lot like the Triceratops we see in ANIMAL WORLD.

It looks like Irwin Allen is offering some "constructive criticism" to the studio artist.

Here I get the impression that Ray might be wondering when these guys will go back to their offices and let him get to work.

This angle with the two ceratosaurus is my favorite.
