I also marked the genre films in TV Guide. You can see my little pen slash alongside THE RETURN OF PETER GRIMM. I didn't mark FLAME OF THE ISLANDS not because it was on an out-of-town station (because I marked even those), but either because I had already been stung by the "Science-Fiction" designation when it played locally, or because I was already suspicious though I hadn't yet seen it.

They did eventually add a movies-only section at the back of the TV Guide. I think that came along late '70s, maybe even '80s. I was of two minds about it. It saved me time, for sure, but it seemed like cheating and, also, I loved the page-by-page possibility of discovery.

I also read Judith Crist's comments and, as I recall, very often disagreed. I do have a fond memory of her mentioning something with Boris Karloff, writing that it was a pleasure to hear English spoken "as it ought to be."
