In my case, I was fortunate that Derek M. Koch, host of this year's winner for Best Podcast, Monster Kid Radio, came to see my authorized one man show about Boris Karloff, "KARLOFF."  He surprised me with the idea of nominating the show for "Best Fan Event," since he liked the play so much he came to see it twice.  It hadn't even occurred to me to go for a Rondo, and I was grateful for the nomination, and pleasantly surprised when David Colton put "KARLOFF" on the ballot.

Something else interesting, and encouraging about my nomination, is that stage plays are pretty rare on the Rondo ballot.  There isn't any category that theatre pieces fit into really.  So "KARLOFF," something at this point which has only had a small audience, and so isn't known to the Rondo voters, was competing with things very different from it - like this year's "Best Fan Event" winner, the cast reunion of "Evil Dead" at the Horror Hound convention.  I knew from the start that something the voters would be very familiar with would have to be the winner, and that was the case.

But at least the play was on the ballot, and there could be other classic horror related projects that may not easily fit into a category.  That shouldn't stop anyone's creation from being noticed, and possibly getting recognized with a nomination.

So, David Schecter gave you good advice, Dedman13 - Just do your thing, let people know it exists, by using social media for instance, and chances are that someone will take note and suggest your work be nominated.
