Actually, it does appear as if Carfax Abbey is written in some kind of ornamental style at the top of the gate. And the left side of the gate does appear to be slightly askew to allow someone enough access to slip in.
  



Infinite, I don't see Carfax Abbey written on top; the frontal shot indicates a wrought iron design.
