I all cases like this, not just that of DRACULA '31, we're not talking about film industry professionals engaged by the films' owners, but rather a "Fan" who loves the material; and what is done, is to re-"Edit" the original footage.

So the phrase "fan edit" is simply accurate, not perjorative.

I can't speak for Kerry, but I don't take the term "fan edit" as a pejorative, though I think some may have meant it that way. In fact, my re-cut has been listed as a featured fan edit over at the Internet Fanedit Database. The point that Kerry and I have been trying to make is that unlike most fan edits, the re-cuts are not our original creations. We were simply following the templates of the Melford version and the script.
