My first reaction was to think my cable had gone out at the worst moment imaginable. My second reaction was "AAAARRRGGGGHHH!! Wha? Huh? AARRRRGHHH!" My third reaction was, "Hey, that was pretty good." During the final minute or two, the tension among us viewers was thick enough to feel. Everytime someone came through the door of the diner, we and Tony braced ourselves and inspected them closely. And that's what Tony's life will be like...the spectre of sudden death lurking about every moment. Even enjoying a meal in a diner with his family, he must be constantly on guard. That's what I took from the ending until Tim's revelation above. Now it seems likely that that Tony may have been whacked. If that's so, I like the utterly original way it was portrayed. I will really have to watch this again. If this is what happened, that's pretty much the same experience Phil had. One second saying "Bye Bye" to his grandkids, the next: blackness. You don't always die instantly when shot, but you usually do when blasted in the head at close range as happened to Phil and possibly Tony. Now I'm picturing Carm and AJ sitting there screaming with blood and brains all over them. But of course, Tony would never see that so we didn't either.

Didn't Phil wear a Members Only jacket a few times...possibly because it was in style when he went in prison and he still had it?

And Joe Karlosi, please take the time to watch this wonderful series form the beginning. Some (not all) of the detractors of this show seem to be disappointed duringed the stretches when the mob violence and intrigue is at a minimum. Those are the times when we get to know the characters best, when we are not distracted by wondering who is getting whacked. And the characters really make this show.
