I thought the SOPRANOS finale was a perfectly fine, and even wonderful, way to end what I believe is the best series in television history.

A creative copout? Some might think so, but in the end David Chase voted for his characters, and left it to his audience to fill in the blanks. The weekend was full of "how should it end" discussion across the nation, and what Chase did here was to embrace those ambiguities. I'm perfectly happy to think the "family'' remains intact while others can fill in their own scenarios of a final bloodbath.

What I found most intriguing of all is that despite the carnage, the possibility of someday revisiting these characters exists. Maybe it will open with a funeral; maybe not. I hope someday we get to find out, but until then I can only applaud the masterful television that THE SOPRANOS, even with its misses, achieved every Sunday night. I feel the loss already.
