I admire a lot of different TV shows in different ways, but my feeling for THE SOPRANOS is on an entirely higher level. I remember once reading an essay in which the author related her feelings upon finishing her reading of Tolstoy's WAR AND PEACE -- she read the last line, threw the book across the room, and had a long good cry, because she knew that her time with those characters, with whom she had been through so much, had come to an end. I don't see how viewing the last episode of THE SOPRANOS can be much different for me (though I'll forego throwing my TV); it's the TV series which, for me anyway, has had all the rich dramatic and comedic complexity of a great novel.
