The film is great. But ex-model Lazenby is right about his own limitations at that point: he's flat throughout.

The need to loop his whole undercover doubling is almost as goofy as Lugosi's in DARK EYES OF LONDON, and in the mature (for a Bond film) Love Arc with Tracy, Rigg has to carry him - whereas Connery would've been a full-fledged partner who lifted those scenes even higher.

But again, I just wish he'd behaved, because he may well have grown better in the role with a little weathering.
