The quality of OHMSS stands out when the films just before and after are seen, in my opinion. The only thing I agree with you about is the length, there's some trims that could have been made in the middle, but acting is superb, even Lazenby is just such a psychical, confident dude, honestly a little more complex than Connery, who God would have looked at and said, "Yeah, he knows what he's doing." And as much as I liked the Blofeld from Thunderball and From Russia With Love, Telly Savalas is an AWESOME Blofeld. And the direction is simply the best the series has ever seen, and I know that's saying a lot in the company of Terence Young and Martin Campbell, but even the opening shot with the plaque reflecting the street with the director walking through the shot is just the start of what is the most amazingly well shot film of the series. Some of the compositions and transitions blow me away even today.
Can't say enough about this picture.
