I really dislike the opening scene, the cutting is just terrible, and the under cranking of the camera brings about the opposite reaction from me that is supposed to happen, looking more keystone cops than James Bond. The punchline I felt was a bit of a unneeded putdown of Connery. The credits sequence was great as was the music.
I know it was all supposed to be new, but I thought almost everything in the film backfired, including the acting of the three main characters. Lazenby i thought could not even pull off the supposed cool intro sots of himself lighting a cigaret while not showing his whole face.
While, I would certainly have seen the next Bond film if Lazenby was still in it, he might have grown into the role after all, I don't think the film would have been any better if they used the same script that Connery had. They were really heading into Roger Moore territory with that film.

The film is way too long as well, but I do Like that they were going to introduce continuity for the franchise.

Just my thoughts, no right or wrong for anyone else.
