I'd say a comparison of Browning's version with Melford's is a pretty fair estimation of seeing how Browning deviated from the script. Dialogue was dropped, a few scenes were rearranged, broken up, or not filmed at all. I also agree with Craig and don't think it unlikely that photos were taken of scenes that weren't filmed. They could have had Lugosi or other cast members walk onto a standing set to pose for stills. Nothing special was required since everything was set up for the Spanish version anyway. These photos are not proof positive that the scenes were actually shot.
