Exactly, Rick. And as I recall, one of Rhodes' main takes is that Browning was talking about how his theatricals were butchered when he and the friend saw them on TV, not that he was restating a quarter-century old complaint about the studio raping his film in 1931.

Gary has gathered more evidence in one place than anyone else ever has - by far. But as the CREATURE comparison above mentions, much evidence is lost forever (thanks again, squirrelly early fandumb, for not doing more!) When Gary writes, "what if?," I sometimes agree, and sometimes not.
