It's very clear that the first scene of Dracula in Mina's room was a cut-down version of the scene that was originally shot as Dracula's assault on Mina later the movie. It was trimmed down and wedged into that spot, adding a repeat of the bat in Lucy's window to explain how Dracula got into the room after the footage of the nurse letting him in was cut. This change was obviously not made during production, but afterwards. That points to the definite possibility that there were other changes and cuts made after the film was complete. It's not proof of course, but it's information that has to be considered.
