No, it doesn't stand in contrast to Gary's book. I said "originally intended." Kerry's re-cut follows the shooting script that Browning co-wrote. At the time the script was finished, that was the continuity that Browning intended to film. I believe that even Gary would agree to that.

As to the edit of the release version, I said that Kerry's re-cut "may" have matched Browning's intended edit. Nothing in Gary's book contradicts that, except possibly his speculation on Dracula's first visit to Mina's bedroom, which I've already shown to have been based on his misreading of the script. And for all of Gary's research, he doesn't address the 1932 Hollywood magazine article that says that Carl Laemmle Sr. had ordered that the film be re-cut at the last minute.
