How does he always make me think Greenbriar is printed in hard cover on beautiful coated stock?
I don't know how I missed seeing this before. Gorgeous!
By the way, there IS a beautiful hard cover on coated stock book by John McElwee out. Well worth the purchase.

LUGOSI is the way to go if you want the complete story. It does contain a complete bio of Lugosi, but the main content of the book is an amazing list (with comments) on the complete body of Lugosi's work in films, plays, radio, TV, etc.
However, it was written quite a while ago and much has surfaced since it's publication. Rhodes' other two books (DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES and NO TRAVELOR RETURNS) go into much more detail dealing with Lugosi's later years. Hopefully we will eventually see a trilogy with Bela's whole life come out from Gary. There is possibly enough for 4 books. The 2 out now being #s 3&4 while #1 would be Bela's early years up to Dracula on Broadway and #2 being the Hollywood years up to Bela's decline where NO TRAVELOR RETURNS begins. Followed by #4, DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES which covers his death.
IMHO, NO TRAVELOR RETURNS is the finest book ever written on Lugosi.
The Lennig revision is a complete waste of print. It looks to me like he merely took his fairly good original book and just added whatever Gary, Tom and others had turned up. I did not see anything new in that book. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
Gary once told me that he had not planned on writing any more on Lugosi when he heard that Lenig was writing the revision. When he saw no new research, he knew he had to publish more on Lugosi. I would say that is the only good thing about the 2nd Lennig book.
Even DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES could be updated now that we have seen Bela on THE RED SKELTON SHOW.
