The French Lucky Luke movie is a comic carton, very much in the style of Li'l Abner, but with a more modern sensibility. I'd also like to use Rustlers' Rhapsody (1985) and Lust in the Dust (1985) as points of reference, but those were, frankly inferior efforts. At the very least the film's sensibility is more like those than like Blazing Saddles' or Three Amigos'.

Fantasy elements include super good luck and a talking horse.

Some scenes and humor are reminiscent of the Hope/Crosby Road pictures and there also seems to be some inspiration from Bond films (specifically Golden Gun) and the Wild Wild West TV show.
It gets kinda slow in the middle portion, but even then there a few good jokes and gags in there. Quite a few anachronisms including anachronistic characters (Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Calamity Jane are all thrown in the mix,)  and songs.

Regarding Les Dalton (2004) they had a copy in a local store but it was PAL format and I did not want to get it.

"There is a lot of money tied up in this film and people expect to hear a boom when something blows up, so I'll give them a boom."
