I like that framing - "evil Prince Charming." And you're right about changing (adding to) the mythos, such as the silver chain that binds the Baron, and Van Helsing's Holy Water bat-bite kit. I imagine fans enjoy those minor deviations from tradition (I did). Reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode "The Howling Man" and how John Carradine can keep Satan trapped in a room with the aid of "the staff of Truth," whatever that is.
