There have probably been more modern remakes of the werewolf motif than Dracula or Frankenstein, if you think about it, some of them quite good: AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (and sadly, PARIS), THE HOWLING (and sequels), WOLFEN, WOLF (Jack Nicholson as a werewolf in a very underrated film), CURSED, etc.

Most of them used old-fashioned physical makeup (!) or mechanical appliances and worked pretty well.

But then there's the Wolf Man as cartoon approach of CGI-crazy VAN HELSING. Ugh.

If this new version is the former, hey, who knows, it will be as good or bad as it ends up being. If a CGI Talbot, with impossible leaps and the rest, well I have lesser hopes.

As for Jessica Simpson or whomever it ends up being, it's not like Evelyn Ankers was a great actress either. We all love her, of course, but she's the same quizzical-fearful-huh-what's-going-on-Oh-Larry face in film after film. Simpson could probably achieve that easily as well!

As for the casting of Larry Talbot, the only person I'll accept is Kerry Gammill!
