As I've said before, I always thought this was the red-headed stepchild of the summer of '79, when you could catch Prophecy, Amityville Horror, Phantasm, Alien, and still-in-release Dawn of the Dead and Halloween. It's better than most people remember, but it's much slower paced than the very similar Prophecy. Mancuso and Warner give really good performances, and it's more of a mystery/drama than a horror film. Glad to finally have it on DVD.

The book was pretty good, too.
