So I watched this one last night and I can't really make my mind up about it. Some bits really work - Price and Rathbone's drinking contest, Karloff, every second Nan Grey is on screen - some bits really don't work. For the most part, it looks pretty nice; the castle sets are lovely even if the battles are a bit low-rent. Donnie Dunnigan in the wedding scene ("ah weeul") is hilariously miscast - there were no other child actors at Universal in 1939, really?

Overall, decent flick - Karloff, Rathbone and Price are great and Nan Grey is lovely, but that cast deserve a better movie than they got.

EDIT: just remembered something that I *really* liked - the scene with Boris tucking the little price into bed.  Such a good bait-and-switch.  I genuinely thought he wasn't going to go through with killing them.

Officially sorry for the years 2005 - 2010.
