I saw THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME when it first came out; the theatre manager absolutely refused to turn the sound up and the audience was all early 20's metalheads who wanted it l o u d. So to show their disapproval the kids stomped on the seats, breaking several of them, throwing popcorn, candy wrappers, and in 1 case a full can of beer at the screen.
At both ROCKY and ROCKY II the audience was wildly enthusiastic and cheered at he ending. The audience applauded the end of all 3 STAR WARS films, SUPERMAN, and CARRIE.
At a revival showing of ON HER MAJESTYS SECRET SERVICE, one female audience member let out a audible "oh, no!" when Blofeld and Irma Bunt suddenly appear with a machine gun.
At another revival showing of THE BIG SLEEP, another female member of the audience let out a loud "oh my God!" when Bacall tells Bogie it depends on "who's in the saddle", being a veiled reference to sex.
