Oh, super fun place to visit Shelly.  I went there a few years ago - it was very "old school" and didn't seem to have changed much since the '70s.  It's kind of a combination fun house and wax museum.  I remember the floor gets "squishy" like you're stepping on foam mats when you get to the Creature from the Black Lagoon display.  There's also a gory recreation of the "rats eating the nose off" bit inspired by HORROR CASTLE.  Lake George itself is also a  blast overall if you're into a classic mid-century tourist experience.  In addition to the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum, there's a neat Penny Arcade with loads of old fortune teller machines, bunches of classic mom and pop motels...and up until a couple of years ago I think the last Howard Johnson's restaurant standing was in Lake George but it finally closed.   The nearby Magic Forest amusement park is still going strong - a classic "storybook land" kiddie park the likes of which are almost extinct.  I have very fond memories of my visit there.
